“My studio is my sandbox,” says Sheryl. “To bring feeling and life to an inanimate object that moves people, stimulating their minds and hearts is a beautiful gift – the by-product of infusing passion and detail into each element of the final piece.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Design has been an integral part of Sheryl Anjanette’s life from an early age. Having lived in Paris for more than five years, she grew to love not only the indoor museums housing the timeless treasures of the masters, but the city itself where the architecture, bridges and statues brought an outdoor museum-like feel to everyday life. Through her life’s work Sheryl has brought her vision to many two-dimensional mediums but always had a yearning to work in 3D. She finally found a studio in Carlsbad, California to begin her journey in clay, moving her residence to be close enough to fully immerse herself in the craft. After beginning her study and practice in Lynn Forbes’ studio, Sheryl was fortunate to also study with Philippe Farout, master sculptor and teacher. Her approach is a blend of intuition and a more technical methodology.
